I was traipsing through a soggy paddock somewhere near Nannup in the south west of Western Australia, when I noticed the grass was laced with glistening strands of web as far as I could see.  It was just everywhere like thousands of little circus high wires for insects.  I kind of felt bad for trampling all over it…

I love the colours of autumn.  It’s always been a disappointment to me that there aren’t many deciduous trees in Perth, so we don’t really get the full effect.. but you can find them if you look hard enough…

These pure white dunes north of Perth are an exhilarating sight when you happen across them unexpectedly, as I did.  I wasn’t up to climbing them on the day (so steep!), but they still made a striking visual from ground level.  I like the textures and stark mediterranean colours.

I always feel a little sad when I see a tree that has graffiti carved into it, but in the case of this thatch of bamboo at Perth Zoo, it’s more like an artform.
